10am – 5pm St Peter and St Pauls church open

11am – 3pm Martello Tower No. 24 in the High Street open for visiting

From 12 noon “Scavengers Vintage Car Club” High Street Parade

“The Dymchurch Mummers” will be performing outside the Martello Tower, The Ocean Inn and at the beach

Our Napoleonic troops for the weekend will feature:

71st Highland Light Infantry
Royal Artillery
1st Foot Guards

Sunday 28th August 2016

10am – 1pm Martello Tower No. 24 in the High Street open for viewing

10am – 4pm Arts and Crafts Exhibition at Dymchurch Village Hall

11am – 4pm “Meet Pete” – the baby Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur at The Dymchurch Amusement Park

2pm Line up for the Parade starting from Dymchurch Recreation Ground. Led by the New Romney Sea Cadet band, including carriage, military and Syn characters

2:15pm Parade departs for St Peter and St Pauls church

3pm Evensong service at St Peter and St Pauls church with a reading for the late Daniel Thorndike

4pm Parade through the High Street back to the Dymchurch Recreation Ground.

7:30pm “Best Wench” competition being held at The City of London pub. Open to all genders!

Monday 29th August 2016

9:30am Dead Horse Morris Dancers performing outside St Peter and St Paul’s church

10am St Peter and St Paul’s church – inspection of military troops by Major Faunce followed by the Trial of the prisoner caught smuggling.

This will be the meeting point for “The Scarecrow” competitors to take part in the Grand Parade at 1:30pm, judged by “The Scarecrow” at the Dymchurch Recreation Ground.

10am – 3pm Arts and Crafts Exhibition at Dymchurch Village Hall

10am – 5pm New Hall and Jail open

10:30am Dead Horse Morris Dancers performing outside The City of London pub

11am Execution of prisoner – sea wall Green area

11:30am Dead Horse Morris Dancers performing outside The Ocean Inn

1pm Battle on the Beach featuring military, “The Scarecrow” and smugglers

1:30pm Grand Parade from The Main Slipway to The Dymchurch  Recreation Ground in St Mary’s Road, led by the Bloco Fogo Samba band.

Village entertainment includes:

“Juggle it All”, stilt walkers, fire eaters, children’s workshop, Live bands at The Ocean Inn

Fete at the Recreation Ground

Stalls, bouncy castle, face painting children’s workshop Newfoundland dogs, vintage military vehicles and cars, model vehicles, vintage farm tools, archery, cider stall, charity stalls, RHDR railway engine display, refreshments.

2pm Arena entertainment

Phoenix Wrestling – 3 bouts
Bloco Fogo Samba Band
Canton Martial Arts
New Romney Sea Cadet Band
Military Drills

Everybody is welcome to dress up in smuggling/pirate costumes for the whole weekend.

Please note: On Saturday 3rd September 2016, in association with The Day of Syn, Dymchurch Amusement Park will host a “20 year celebration firework display” on the beach at dusk.
